Healthy Digestive System

A balance lifesytle and diet help to maintain a healthy digestive system.

Excessive stress, for example, is thought to contribute to poor digestion. If food is not broken down or absorbed properly, it is thought to irritate the lining of the intestines, causing them to become 'leaky'.

Food molecules and toxins then pass into the bloodstream, causing problems in other part of the body, depleting the immune system and leaving you vulnerable to illness.

Poorly digested food in the intestines is also thought to upset the intestinal balance, leading to an overgrowth of unfriendly bacteria.

Improvement digestion is the key to good health because of the knock-on effects this has on the rest of your body. Vitamin B6 and zinc are needed to produce digestive enzymes, and calcium and magnesium help to reduce excess stomach acid (which causes indigestion). Acidoplilus improves the activity of beneficial bacteria in the intestines.

What is Vitamin B6?
A group of water-soluble substances that work together and are converted into th active form pyridoxine in your body. Vitamin B6 is popular with women who suffer from premenstrual syndrome as it is thought to regulate levels of sex hormones.

How it works?
Breakdown of food and the production of energy in the body with the present of Vitamin B12. It helps to reduce skin inflammation and keeps your teeth and gum healthy.

Deficiency symptoms
- water retention
- Anxiety, irritability and depression
- Muscle cramp
- Anaemia

Food Sources
A regular intake of vitamin B6 is essential, as it is excreted in the urine. B6 is present in many foods, but is easily destroyed by storing, processing food and cooking.

- bananas
- chicken
- fish
- brussels sprout
- potatoes
- wholemeal bread
- green, leafy vegetables
- bake bean

To be continue - Zinc

Why Organic?

Select Less Food Additive

It perform many functions, from giving flavour and colour, to preventing food from spoiling. However, some may produce side effects, such as allergic reactions. Food may also contain potentially HARMFUL substances such as growth hormones, antibiotics and pesticides, which can be contribute to toxic overload in the body.

Organic Food

If choose organic food, which is grown without chemicals, you will reduce the THREAT to your health

Getting the most VITAMINS & MINERALS from your food
- Do not cut or wash FRUITS and VEGETABLES until you are ready to eat them
- Eat the skin of the VEGETABLES
- Eat food RAW whenenver is possible
- Eat foods as fresh as possible, and keep them cool and in the dark if you are not going to eat them immediately
- If cooking, use as little water as possible and keep the water for stock
- Do not overcook food
- Cooking in copper pans can destroy folic acid and vitamin C and E.

Why select vegetables grow in soil medium?
"Gaia Hypothesis" - All green plant are able to grow and reproduce using only the energy contained in the sunlight, together with water and a few essential minerals they obtain from solid substrate (mostly soil).

Why soil growth VEGETALBES taste tastier?
The uptake of the soluble minerals from the soil for the plant to grow and the green plant gaseous waste product (oxygen) into the atmosphers, stores sugars and proteins in their tissue make the VEGETALBES taste sweeter. This natural growing process of the PESTICEDE FREE VEGETABLES are of superb QUALITY as the transfer of mineral from green plant to human body is a natural cycle. Unlike other growing method.

"WILL & ENERGY"

In this week's 8 DAYS (10-14 June 2012)

Thank you everybody for making GENERATION GREEN a success..

Without the Interest Group continuous support, I am not able to walk this far and lead a team of like minded people to create and produce QUALITY veggies..

My SUCCESS is the recognition from YOU. You have given me the power of "WILL & ENERGY" to produce our food, the mother nature to nurture our plant.

It is the beginning.

I believe, my team and the investors can do more to help more people. We will remember your little contribution. Your contribution help shape GENERATION GREEN to sustain and create more opportunity for the less fortunate. Your unconditional support will always be recorded in our data base and we "VALUE" you. Your decision (buying our veggies for your family) give us the opportunity to move closer to achieve our goal as a Social Enterprise.
3 cheers for everybody!
3 cheers to EUNIS (my wife).

In this week's 8 DAYS (10-14 June 2012) In this week's 8 DAYS (page 2), Robbie is in too. : )

SABOTAGE - CONCENTRATED SALT SOLUTION SPRAY ONTO 2 BEDS OF KAILAN PLANT

Being an Organic Farmer, it is very very SAD to see my plants subjected to plant stress or sickness.

To prevent the organic edible veggies from subjected to stress environment, we as organic farmer has to ensure and make sure the soil, the homemake organic fertilisers and all organic ingredient are feed to the plant as soluble fertiliser for the plants to consume.

It take many times, many people efforts as well as many people contribution to ensure our food GROW and safe to eat.

Sadly to say, there is an incident happened on the 6th of June.

An act on SABOTAGE has affected my community farm.

I have no proof nor any surveillance cameras to protect the perimeter. Henceforth I have no clues how many people is behind this act.

To better understand what has happened on the ground, I have attached a few photos BEFORE & AFTER incident to better explain my agony.

Good Beautiful Kai Lan Harvested

Look at the plant, a healthy Kai Lan foliage is blue/green leathery surface texture with the surface of the foliage no visible damage.

Transpiration process. The plant is producing water at the tip of the foliage but not on the surface of the leave. Also, especially for Kai Lan, the leathery surface will not hold back the water on the foliage. If water is spray onto the plant, it will drip inward to the stem.

At 8.45am. I have discovered "Super Concentated Salt Solution" on my Kai Lan 2 row of beds, it show signed of discomfort due to the salt attacking the living cell. It start to react by showing signed of yellow spot. Awaiting the droplet of salt to be crystalise.

At about 3.30pm, I came back again. The salt solution have crystalise. The white spot on the stem is salt. Ceylon is planted along the perimeter fencinact as a physical barrier.

On 7th June, the foliage begin to show signed of stress - the leave has many white spots.

Close up shot taken.

Preventive measure, an inspection was done on 7th June, all affected leave was pluck off from the stem to ensure the plant continue to grow healthy. I was blessed. Why, because of my hardwork to ensure the soil is organic couple with Taylor Stanley product, the plants immune system is strong. The damage is not extensive. The plants is able tpo repair itself and stay green.

Additional measure, I have lay a transparent sheet at the side of the production bay to deter the aggressor from repeating the same act again.

Please help me to spread the message across, GENERATION GREEN will not hesitate to take legal action to whoever has the intention or mischief to SABOTAGE our production.

Note, a police report has been lodged.

I have also install hidden surveilance camera in the farm.

Please think before you act.

The crop produceD by GENERATION GREEN is meant for the community.

We, GENERATION GREEN advocate the important of 3FS -
FOOD SAFETY, FOOD SECURITY, FOOD SUSTAINABILITY.
