Warning - Diet Checklist & Foods for Optimal Nutrition

Do you need to improve your diet?

1. Do you smoke?
2. Do you add salt to your food and eat sweets more than twice a week?
3. Do you eat fried foods?
4. Is your fat intake above 30% of your daily calorie intake?
5. Do you eat processed and "fast" food?
6. Do you eat red meat more than twice a week?
7. Do you drink more than one cup of coffee or three cups of tea a day?
8. Do you drink more than one unit of alcohol a day?
9. Do you rarely eat fresh FRUITS and VEGETABLES?
10. Do you often skip meal?

If the answered is yes to most or all of the questions above, then your health is likely to SUFFER. You need to make permanent changes to your lifestyle and diet.

If you answered yes to half of the questions, you can improve your health by getting rid of bad dietary habits.

If you answered no to most or all of the questions, you are on the right track to a long and healthy life.

Foods for optimal nutrition
- Complex carbohydrates should form half of your daily diet.
- At least five portions of FRUITS & VEGETABLES a day, preferably ORGANICjj
- Low-fat dairy foods
- OILY FISH at least twice a week
- Olive oil or other m monounsaturated fats for cooking and SALADS
- Plenty of fibre-rich foods
- Fresh foods whenever possible
- Steam VEGETABLES rather than frying or boiling
- Drink enough fluid to keep urine pale - at least 2 litres of water a day to flush out toxins.
